Sport and solidarity once again demonstrate their power to unite cultures, people, and projects. At the headquarters of Fundación Xcalibur (Madrid), Carlos Salazar, President of the European Football Institute (local partner of the Social School of Medellín), and Fernando Pons, President of Sport Extremadura CD (local partner of the ByEM programme in Spain), signed last Friday a brotherhood agreement between both organisations, with the support and commitment of FX, represented on this occasion by its Executive Director, Javier Lezcano.
The main purpose of the meeting was the donation of full sports kits and goalkeeper gloves, made by the players of Sport Extremadura CD, to the children and young participants of the Social School of Medellín.
With this alliance, Fundación Xcalibur reaffirms its role as a bridge between organisations that believe in sport as a tool for development, education, and inclusion.
This initiative strengthens the shared commitment to collaboration, sustainability, and the wellbeing of communities in vulnerable situations, ensuring that the participants can train in safe and motivating conditions.
We are united by more than football or language: we are united by the hope that the boys and girls who find joy in sport can continue to do so with motivation and safety, said Fernando Pons, President of Sport Extremadura CD.

We are very happy with this brotherhood, as it connects two like-minded projects through sport and solidarity. We even share the same colour green — that of Sport Extremadura and the flag of Medellín — a symbol of this union, expressed Carlos Salazar, President of the European Football Institute.
For his part, Javier Lezcano, Executive Director of Fundación Xcalibur, highlighted “the importance of building bridges between local partners who share a common vision of the transformative power of sport and education.”
