Following the positive impact achieved in Uganda, we decided to launch our second social sports school—this time, across the Atlantic. Through the Medellín Social Academy, we provide sports and social training to over 80 children in vulnerable situations, specifically in Comuna 16, Altavista. To complement this technical sports training and education in social values, we also offer cultural activities in collaboration with local organizations, as well as medical programs.
ByEM: Women’s Well-being and Employability (Bienestar y Empleabilidad de la Mujer, in Spanish) is the first initiative of our gender-focused programs. We conduct workshops and online training sessions for the 23 players of Sport Extremadura CD, a women’s football team in Spain’s 3rd Division, to help them develop their best selves both on and off the field. After receiving personal and professional training and guidance, the participants lead Service-Learning workshops to encourage children across schools in Extremadura to engage in physical activity.
Through the HERoSTEM program, Xcalibur Smart Mapping employees create activities and provide mentorship to the brightest female students in Africa in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) at the African Science Academy (ASA). The primary goal of this project is to establish partnerships and provide tools that enable participants to grow personally and professionally, contributing to the progress and development of their regions.
Basket4all is our first program focused on basketball talent. Initially implemented in Kinshasa, we offer high-quality basketball training and social values to over 30 young people aged 12 to 17 through the Talent Academy. We include a nutrition program and an education model based on Service-Learning. Through this approach, our participants will bring the values they have learned to schools located in the most disadvantaged areas of the DRC.
The Foundation’s first social sports school, the Naguru Social Sports Academy, was established at Naguru Katali School in the Naguru neighborhood of Kampala. It has served over 280 young people, aged 5 to 16, who are in vulnerable situations, and also includes children with special needs. The program aims to promote school engagement, instill social values, and encourage healthy habits through football. To support these goals, we also provide activities focused on hygiene and high-quality education.
OUR VALUES
01.
— Essence
Respect is one of the most important pillars of life. We begin by honoring it through mutual respect within our team, partners, and collaborators, and strive to pass it on to our beneficiaries, their families, communities, and surroundings.
02.
— Education
As a core element of our philosophy, education is both essential and necessary. Ensuring access to education and promoting the pursuit and commitment to formal education are fundamental requirements for the Foundation.
03.
— Equality
We are all equal. Equality among people, genders, religions, identities, and races. Equality in opportunities, education, sports, and life. We want to do our part to help make this a reality.
04.
— Respect
Respect is one of the most important pillars of life. We begin by honoring it through mutual respect within our team, partners, and collaborators, and strive to pass it on to our beneficiaries, their families, communities, and surroundings.
05.
— Sport
We see sports as a tool for education, training, and instilling values—making it the perfect means to positively impact children and youth. Playing while learning, and learning through playing.
06.
—Environment
It’s both a responsibility and a commitment. We are directly involved in caring for nature and educating others on respecting and protecting the environment. We are aware of this duty, and it’s embedded in our DNA.
TESTIMONIALS
EDUCATION FOR ALL
“As CEO of Xcalibur Smart Mapping and honorary partner of the Xcalibur Foundation, we believe that helping to improve the quality of life for groups at risk of social exclusion is both a duty and a self-imposed goal that is deeply embedded in our organization’s DNA. We take pride in collaborating with the Xcalibur Foundation to support vital social projects that focus on education and the development of the most vulnerable groups—especially children, youth, and women.”

SPORT AS A TOOL FOR SOCIAL INCLUSION
“Our main goal in Uganda, and around the world with the Xcalibur Foundation, is to improve the lives of children by using football as a social tool. Our social sports schools, present in more than 70 countries, implement comprehensive social interventions that include nutrition, healthcare, and/or schooling for children in need. We follow our exclusive methodology, For a REAL Education: Values and Sport, which integrates weekly training and values-based sessions, making sports a powerful tool for social inclusion through education.”

USING SPORT TO TRANSFORM LIVES
“This project is a tribute to the girls and women who, whether in sport or other fields, stand up for themselves and fight for their dreams.
I am convinced that these girls will become role models for future generations, and our mission is to support and encourage their emotional and professional growth for an integral development adapted to today’s challenging and volatile society.”

Programme Director of Fundación Xcalibur and Founder of Lautestima
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME BETTER
“I’ve been at the academy for a year now, and I’ve learned a lot. I´ve improved my ball control and have also learned important values, such as respect. I feel good with my teammates—they treat me well and are very friendly. This is a great opportunity for us, and I aspire to achieve something meaningful in life.”
